The sandblasting industry is a sector that involves many risks that must be taken into consideration in terms of occupational safety. Dust and other harmful substances released during the sandblasting process can threaten the health of employees. For this reason, occupational safety measures must be applied meticulously during sandblasting operations. Here are some basic precautions to be taken for occupational safety in the sandblasting industry: 1. Use of Personal Protective Equipment: Mask and Respiratory Protectors: Fine dust generated during sandblasting is dangerous for the respiratory tract. Employees are required to use masks and respiratory protectors with appropriate filtering properties.

Ear Protectors: High noise levels generated during the sandblasting process can cause hearing loss. Hearing should be protected by using earplugs or headphones. Hand and Body Protectors: Workers' hands and bodies should be protected during sandblasting. Durable gloves, protective clothing and shoes should be used. 2. Ventilation and Dust Control: - Appropriate ventilation systems should be installed in areas where sandblasting is carried out. These systems must effectively remove harmful dust and particles from the air. - Vacuum sandblasting systems or dust collection units can be used for dust control. 3. Machinery and Equipment Maintenance: - The sandblasting machines and equipment used must be maintained regularly. This ensures the equipment operates safely and efficiently. - The safety systems of the machines (e.g. emergency stop buttons) should be checked regularly. 4. Education and Awareness Raising: - Employees should be regularly trained about the risks they may encounter during the sandblasting process and ways to avoid these risks. - Occupational safety training should be organized periodically in order to increase occupational safety awareness. 5. Audit and Compliance: - Occupational safety measures must be regularly inspected and compliance with relevant legislation must be ensured. - If violations are detected, necessary corrective measures must be taken quickly. 6. Health Surveillance: - Regular health checks of employees provide early diagnosis and treatment. Periodic checks should be performed, especially for health problems such as respiratory diseases and hearing loss. Occupational safety in the sandblasting industry is of great importance in terms of both protecting the health of employees and providing a productive working environment. Therefore, occupational safety measures must be implemented meticulously and constantly improved.
