A sandblaster is a machine used for cleaning, roughening or coating surfaces. Sandblasting is accomplished by blasting abrasive grits at high speed onto a surface. This process is used to remove dirt, paint, rust or other coatings from the surface, to roughen the surface or to prepare the surface before applying a new coating.

The sandblaster is usually powered by compressed air, water jet or turbine engines. The abrasive grit inside the machine is removed at high speed from the nozzle or blast holes by compressed air or turbine engines. This rapid movement creates a strong effect applied to the surface and performs the desired action. Sandblasting machine is used in many industrial areas. For example, it is applied in many areas such as cleaning or polishing the rust or coating of metal surfaces, removing old paints or varnishes from wooden surfaces, roughening or cleaning natural stones and concrete surfaces, giving patterns to glass products. The sandblaster is a potentially dangerous piece of equipment for which proper safety precautions must be taken. Users must use appropriate protective equipment and follow occupational safety instructions. Environmental regulations and waste management requirements should also be considered, as blasting can be harmful to the environment.
