WHITE ALUMINUM OXIDE

White aluminum oxide is an abrasive sand belonging to the electrocorundum group. It is produced by melting clay in electric arc furnaces. It contains no iron. It can withstand high pressure and is also resistant to abrasion. As with glass bead sand, it cleans the blasted material in metal and aluminum surface treatments, leaving a shiny surface.

Technical Specifications:

  • Hardness: High

  • Grain shape: Angular – sharp surface

  • Abrasiveness: Medium–high

  • Surface cleaning + roughening balance

Advantages:

  • Cleaning and roughening metal surfaces

  • Safe use on light-medium alloy metals and steel surfaces

  • More aggressive than glass beads, more even etching than brown oxide

  • Provides a smooth surface profile before coating

Areas of Use:

  • Metal constructions, pipes, tanks, construction elements

  • Light alloy steel and non-ferrous metals

  • Surface preparation before painting / coating
